Morning boat Launches (they will be crowded) Lake Forrest opens at 5am and Cave Rock opens at 6am. Please double check opening times to make sure they are still available next week. Sand Harbor has limited launching capabilities. Please check out restrictions.
Team registration and packet pickup at the North Tahoe Convention Center, Friday, July 16th at 6:00pm. Please only have one team member check-in at the registration table to reduce the crowd size for continued Covid protection. Please wear a mask when checking in.

As a team, we love getting together in Tahoe; for many of us, it's our favorite weekend of the year.
SWIM DATE: July 17, 2021
OVERVIEW: NBA TRANS-TAHOE WEEKEND EVENTS
Typically, those who can get off work/family drive up Thursday — leaving around 11am. We meet for a practice swim (always pending traffic) at the Carnelian Bay. If traffic is bad and/or you don't get away early, then people swim near their cabin location. Friday morning and afternoon we also have practice swims. These are really fun and low-keyed. Friday night is a bbq and the captains meeting nearby. Only the captains are allowed to go this year. Captains get a team packet with t-shirts and team number.
Saturday, most teams meet their boat around 5:30-6:00am and head over to the start of the swim. Starts are staggered according to the division for which the team registered. After the swim, depending on how rough the water is, boats head to shore to pick up their last swimmer. If there's room, the boat may park and the team gets out to socialize. If the boat driver is on a time schedule (to get other clients out on the water) or it's really rough conditions, the last swimmer might swim out to the boat and the boat heads back to marina.

New captains — you need to register your team as soon as you have 6 members. You can't register a partial team (although you can put in a placeholder but it's a hassle to change).
SCHEDULE
THURSDAY PM
• Thursday 4 p.m. practice swim at Carnelian Bay next to Gar Woods (same location as the last few years) The beach is sandy at all water levels. 5000 North Lake Blvd, Carnelian Bay, CA 96140. To get to Tahoe by 4pm, you need to leave around 11am. Many people who leave later than 11am just go straight to their houses OR come to the beach and say hi and have a beer.
FRIDAY AM
• Friday 9 a.m. practice swim at Tahoma (same as last 8 years) — water end of Pine Street, Tahoma, CA 96142 — This is one of the highlights of the weekend for many. • Park on West Lake Blvd (main road) across from West Side Pizza (or at the pizza place) then walk down Pine Street towards the lake.
•Walk up the hill for coffee afterwards next to the Pizza place. Hang out in the sun, squawk about Thursday's traffic, and warm up.
FRIDAY PM
• Friday 4 p.m. practice swim before BBQ Carnelian Bay next to Gar Woods (same location as last years.) The beach is sandy at all water levels. 5000 North Lake Blvd, Carnelian Bay, CA 96140. Some people skip this because they're too cold (...I didn't say that) and/or they're prepping for the bbq.
• Friday 5 p.m. BBQ and Potluck at Carnelian Bay (same location as last few years).
• Charcoal, plates, cups and utensils will be provided. Please bring serving utensils and label them and your bowls. Bring whatever you like for as many people as you like! There's always plenty of food — Make sure to roam around and visit other tables!
• 5000 North Lake Blvd, Carnelian Bay, CA 96140.
• Friday 7:15 p.m. captains meeting, Kings Beach (see following map) (Captains: arrive earlier to pick-up the team packet) 8318 North Lake Blvd, Kings Beach, CA 96143

SATURDAY MORNING RACE
• See maps for start and finish
Most teams meet at their boat around 5:30am and then speed across the lake to the start area.
Typically, the race and beach party are finished at least by 1:00pm. Many fast teams finish in 3-4 hours. Mid-pool teams really want to be under 5 hours. Slower teams want to avoid being "NF" — non finishers because it gets too late.
Then Chambers for the rum drink if you do that sort of thing. Some teams head to Sunnyside — you need a reservation. Then NAP TIME!!!!
SATURDAY NIGHT — nothing planned. Swimmers spend time with their families or get together with other teams.
SUNDAY
Most people depart early to beat the traffic—somewhere between 8 and 10am depending on how stuffed your fridge is and/or whether you want to get out of the cabin before you have to get rid of all the food you guys didn't eat. Tip: This year, for once, my team has a meal plan (thanks Courtney) and one shopping list ahead of time. that way, your house doesn't end up with 10 bags of chips and only two bottles of wine.
BOAT RENTAL
The Trans Tahoe website has many boat rental companies you can call. This one has worked well for my team and I told SARA, from Sunnyside, Sara says best to call the rental office number: 530.583.7201 ext.1.
